As we come to the end of four weeks of national restrictions, I want to thank everyone in Croydon for all they have done to help keep our borough safe.

Croydon, like the rest of London, has been classed as a Covid-19 High Alert Level Area and will move into Tier 2 when national restrictions end at midnight tonight.

This week we have set out plans to get Croydon back on track and rebuild our council to deliver the good services and value for money our residents need and expect, while living within our means.

Croydon has set out proposals for reshaping the council with a focus on delivering quality core services, balancing its budget and living within its means over the next three years.

I have said that my absolute priority as leader is to get Croydon back on a stable financial footing and last night, as a council, we took an important step forward.
